How to book

It is very easy: display schedules from/ to any 16 airports to QYG:

*QYG - means "Railway Germany" and it is IATA city code for any German
Rail's railway station. If schedule for specific city is not provided
through GDS, agents can book a
ticketfrom/toFRA/DUS/CGN/LEJ/BSL/SXF/TXL/BRE/DTM/DRS/HAM/HAJ/MUC/FMO/NUE/STR
to QYG and it will be valid on any train from the airports to any city
in Germany, for the date of the segment. The whole schedule of German
Rail is available on German Rail website www.bahn.de/international. For
QYG a flat fee is charged.
Rail & Fly includes the rail journey
- from/to any of the more than 6,000 railway stations in Germany
- from/to 16 airport in Germany: to/from the entire DB rail network (approx. 34,000 kilometers of track)
- on all trains (including ICE) except Thalys, DB Autozug, special trains and only to a limited extent on DB night trains (train rides within one transport association only in combination with long distance trains)
- for ICE Sprinter trains, there is a compulsory reservation and a separate surcharge of 15 EUR for the 1st class and 10 EUR for the 2nd class. You can make the reservation/pay the surcharge in our DB travel centers (Reisezentrum) and at DB web
- with only one ticket integrated in your booklet of airline tickets book
Rail&Fly period of validity:
If the flight traveller stamps Rail&Fly for a single journey, the ticket is valid for travel of 2 days. If he stamps Rail&Fly for a return journey, only 1 DB ticker is printed and it is valid for the outward and return journey for a period of 12 months.
Just as with the paper ticker, the rail journey may only be made on the day before the flight’s departure from Germany, the day of the flight’s departure, the day of the flight’s arrival in Germany and the following day.

Rail & Fly and German Rail point to points e -ticketing
- German Rail is
e-ticketable worldwide, including Europe
on interline partners.
- Travel agent
issues the e-ticket and receives the German Rail order code (Ticket pickup
number used at the DB ‘BahnTix’ vending machine) via SSR.

obtain train ticket at a DB vending machine.
- Passenger does
not pay at the vending machine.
Pickup of Rail & Fly and Point to Point ticket at the train station in Germany
- Ticket should be printed from Bantix Machine only within 72 hours prior to departure
- Without NVS number passenger will not be able to print his ticket
- Once the
e-ticket including DB segment is issued, the DB Rail & Fly or point to
point ticket is available for pickup at all DB vending machines by
entering the ticket pickup number
(Example: 637631133)
- When the DB
ticket is picked up, the status of the DB coupons in the electronic ticket
will be changed from 'open' to 'flown'.
- If the DB
ticket is not picked up, the railway coupon(s) remain 'open' and can be
refunded and cancelled by the travel agent.
After the passenger has picked up his Rail &
Fly ticket, the time-frame for his onward journey is limited. It is advisable
that the passenger prints out his ticket on the day of travel.
However, the return portion, if purchased, can be used any time within next 12
months

How to book 9b/German Rail groups:
Please note that 9b segments should be booked only when passenger names are final, and never before.
How to successfully book groups for 9b/German Rail in Amadeus:
In order to confirm 9b segments we must receive all individual names at
the same time when 9b PNR is being created, and not after. The
passenger will not be able travel when segments are not confirmed and
pick up numbers not assigned.
For bookings done more than 30 days in advance, Amadeus will not
transmit automatically individual names; therefore “NT” comment must be
used.
Protocol for booking 9b groups more than 30 days in advance:
- Sell 9b segment
- Enter all individual pax names (final)
- Transmit individual names via ”NT” (ensure that your comment was accepted by 1A)
- Only when names where successfully transmitted via “NT”, ER the PNR for the first time.
Protocol for booking 9b groups less 30 days in advance:
- Sell 9b segment
- Enter all individual pax names (final)
- Only when all names where successfully entered ER the PNR for the first time.
